Honor your story. Cultivate your voice.

Tell Your Story, Your Way is a two-day creative writing retreat at Re-Kindle & Bloom Studio. Over two unhurried days, you'll turn lived experience and memory into narrative — exploring memoir, personal narrative, intergenerational memory, voice, and writing from lived experience. Featured talks and guided writing are paired with meditation, gentle movement, and a 1-on-1 coaching session, held in a small, supportive circle of just ten writers.

Over the weekend you'll:

  • Shape your personal story into a narrative with shape, momentum, and meaning
  • Develop the skills and confidence to tell your story your way
  • Deepen reflection and connection alongside fellow writers

What's included:

  • Two full days of facilitated sessions and featured author talks
  • Guided meditation, breathwork, and gentle movement
  • Independent writing time with prompts, plus small- and large-group sharing
  • A 30-minute 1-on-1 coaching session (Sunday) with a featured author or coach
  • A hands-on "channel your inner creativity" crafting workshop
  • Catered lunch both days, plus light breakfast and refreshments
  • Full studio access for individual creativity and wellness time
  • A curated list of optional pre-reading sent before the retreat

Your facilitators:

  • Ann Y.K. Choi — Toronto-based author and educator (Kay's Lucky Coin Variety, a Toronto Book Award finalist; All Things Under the Moon, an Indigo Top 100 pick). Ann teaches novel writing at the University of Toronto.
  • David Ahn — Certified Life Coach, Registered Massage Therapist, and certified practitioner of 6 Phase Meditation, with 25+ years supporting physical and emotional well-being.
